Girls' football is the fastest growing team sport in the UK. The PE staff at Robert Napier have done lots to promote the game in recent years. The school's partnership with local professional football club Gillingham FC saw our girls benefit from a GFC coaching session held at the school last week.
The date of the whole school production has been confirmed as Wednesday 15th July at 6pm. So come along and enjoy Matilda.
Former Robert Napier student and professional footballer Ryan Bertrand is now a regular part of the England squad. Ryan has enjoyed an excellent season in the Premiership with Southampton and will be looking to add to his Champions’ League medal he earned with Chelsea when he competes in the Europa League next season.
Every Wednesday the students and staff of RNS have the opportunity to go along and join in with PRIDE (People Respecting Identity Diversity and Equality).
Green fingered RNS students have put the finishing touches to the Caxton Garden. Now the school community can enjoy the labour of love that has gone in to creating this pleasant area.
The Robert Napier tradition of the whole school show is one of the favourite items on the calendar each year. It is a chance for students, staff and families to enjoy the results of all the fun and hard work of some of our most talented students. This year, the students will be presenting a play version of Roald Dahl's Matilda.
Year 10 Media students were inspired this week by a selection of former students who returned to RNS to give advice on a media product launch and inspire the class with stories of their own success.
Year 11 Catering and Hospitality students put their range of skills to good use and hosted an event as part of their course work to raise money for Kent Association of the Blind.
Students from Twydall Primary school joined us for our successful Year 5 DT Day last term.
Last month, Year 9 students visited the Employability Fair at Mid Kent College. The day began with a talk by army Corporal Sergeant L P O’Grady, covering lots of career options, including catering. Representatives from the world of hospitality (including Premier Inn, The Navy, Caterlink, Careerscope, etc) engaged students in discussion at the various stalls at the fair.
30 high achieving Year 8 students paired up with undergraduate mentors from University of Greenwich to take their place in the CREST (Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technologies) project. The initiative is run by the British Science Association.
