A group of Year 13 students braved cold, damp October weather to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Silver assessed expedition in Ashdown Forest.

Nine students spent three days walking 32km, carrying everything they would need for the weekend. They trudged through thick mud and heavy rain, having to pitch their tents and cook their own food after the long days of navigation.

Mrs Cleall, who supervised the trip, expressed her "utter pride" in seeing how the groups coped in such difficult conditions. She said: "They showed determination, resilience and camaraderie".

When they return to Robert Napier after half term, they will be presenting their experiences and a project they had to undertake whilst walking as part of a DofE assessment. Good luck to them and well done for persevering!
